The Cinque Terre trails were in the past centuries the only link between one village and another. The dense network, which covers over 120 kilometers with trails and paths of different types, allows you to visit the five villages hiking through terracing and coastal environments with breathtaking views.
Portovenere
Included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1997, Portovenere is one of the most beautiful places of Liguria. The village rises on the western tip of the ``Gulf of Poets``.
A very narrow stretch of sea called “le Bocche” separates it from the Palmaria Island. You can’t miss a visit to the splendid Church of San Pietro which stands out from the majestic promontory.
Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre are a jagged stretch of coast of the eastern Ligurian Riviera located in the province of La Spezia between Punta Mesco and Punta di Montenero, where the five sea-fishing villages are located: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
The Cinque Terre are perhaps one of the most popular destinations on the Italian coast; they are characterized by colorful houses overlooking the sea and terraced vineyards and olive groves that make them a unique place. A set of treasures that since 1997 are part of the UNESCO Heritage, a protected marine area and a National Park among the most visited in Italy.
Golfo dei Poeti
The Gulf of Poets is the name of the coast between Portovenere and Lerici. The landscape includes seaside villages, medieval churches and castles overlooking the sea, beaches and colorful houses.
The Convent of the Capuchins in Monterosso
The construction of the Capuchin Convent began in 1619. The friars entered the Convent on 28 March of the year 1622. In the church of the Convent it you can admire the painting depicting ``The Crucifixion`` of the seventeenth century attributed to Antoon Van Dick. The convent can be reached with a walk, starting from the historic center, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. Halfway through you can stop at the statue of St. Francis placed on a panoramic terrace with an amazing view over the Gulf of Cinque Terre and the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto (on clear days it is possible to see the contours of Gorgona and Corsica).

Amazing Private Boat Tour with Stefano
Our 4 hour boat tour with Stefano was easily the best part of our entire trip in Italy. My Wife and I absolutely loved our cruise along the Cinque Terre. He was incredibly personable, fun, and knowledgeable and was happy to provide us with answers to all of our questions and notes about the history and geology of the 5 towns. He even brought along a cooler with a wonderful bottle of prosecco and water for us to drink (even though we brought our own wine and limoncello we still indulged in the prosecco!). Ottimo giro in barca alla scoperta delle 5 Terre!
Arrivati nei pressi del porticciolo, abbiamo trovato Stefano con la sua barca Matilde, subito disponile per un tour delle 5 Terre! Gentile e molto simpatico, ci ha fatto fare un bellissimo giro, arrivando fino a Portovenere e fermandosi nelle calette più belle, così come in ognuna delle 5 Terre anche per fare foto. In ogni “tappa” non mancava mai la spiegazione storica, anche dettagliata. Davvero bravo e competente! Il tramonto in barca e’ vera poesia!

Bellissimo tour nelle cinque terre, con il capitano Stefano, che ci ha fatti sentire a casa e ci ha fatti innamorare del paesaggio. Dopo averci fatto fare il tour, ci ha lasciato un po' di tempo per un bagno in un posto splendido.
